Need Facebook Help, Fellow Mommy Bloggers!!

Okay, so I took the plunge last weekend and started a Facebook page for my blog. So far, it's not doing much! I go through other Mommy Blog Facebook pages, and I'm so inspired. I just don't know what to do with mine. I'm not sure what purpose it should have, if that makes any sense??

And, I'm getting frustrated, because I did the simple thing and hooked up the 'Notes' tab to my RSS feed. The thing is, it has NEVER automatically updated it like Facebook says should happen. I've had to go in and manually add my blogs each time I write.

I've seen people using Networked Blogs??? For those of you who use it, do you find it more helpful? Does it automatically update to your Facebook?

And then I've seen some Facebook pages for blogs that really have nothing to do with the blog.

But, no matter what, every page I go to has more than 20 'Likes'. I'm trying to use the Facebook platform, like so many other blogs have done, but I'm just lost, I guess.

So, here's where I'd like your help. What do you use your Facebook blog page for? How do you have it set up? Do you find it works for you, or is helpful in promoting your blog? What steps did you take to make your Facebook page just as successful as your actual blog?

Any and all help, tips, criticism, whatever, is greatly appreciated. If it would be easier for you to email me, instead of leaving a comment, please do:

And, for those that want to check it out to see what I've got going on, to better give your opinion, my Facebook is The Inklings of Life.

  1. Hi tatted mom. I have a facebook page and to be honest, I don't know if it helps with improving my traffic because it's basically my facebook friends and blog visitors who visit it. Yesterday though, there was a facebook blog hop so I participated and within a day, I had more likes from other people besides my usual visitors so in that way, it has helped. I use networked blogs and previously, it automatically published to my profile and face book page but this week, there was a problem with syndication which they fixed this morning so I'm sure it will now automatically publish to your profile and facebook page. I hope that helps?

  2. I am your newest follower from the blog hop. Please follow me as well. Thank you.

BTW, NetworkedBlogs helps me quite a bit w/ the auto publish feature. Like Uan said, it does have problems from time to time. Overall it's very good though! Hope that helps.

  5. Hello! Following you from Saturday Stalk blog hop!

(**ignore Mamacita la Cuponera, that is my other blog and I don't know why it is popping up**!)

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME WITH HELP WITH YOUR FACEBOOK. It does take time. Networkedblogs was acting up. It wasn't working for these days. It is a Facebook problem. I have had to manually enter all my posts...I will go and ""Like" your page.

  6. Hi. I have wondered the same thing about my Facebook page. I have to manually go and add my link and all my followers are followers of my blog. I use Networked Blogs too but I am not convinced it is that much better. I have joined some facebook blog hops as well and that seems to help a little. I think Bloggy Moms just started a Facebook group and I was going to visit over there to see what others are doing.

I am visiting from the blog hop and I am a new follower!

  7. Hi. I am a new follower via the Weekend blog hops! I would love for you to visit me @
@craftsexaminer on Twitter ( crafts Examiner)& shanna mommiesandbeyond on Face Book! Thanks. Have a lovely Weekend!

  8. Okay, so I guess I cant really be supportive here. I actually just started a Twitter account for my blog and cannot figure the darn thing out! Good luck though!

  9. I just recently set up a Facebook page for my blog and I still haven't set it to be able to update when a new post is up. The way I was able to get followers on it was to suggest it as a page to my friends. I don't really know that any of my friends ever actually read it, but there has to be a point somewhere to having a huge amount of Facebook friends, right? Maybe once you figure it out you can tell me LOL!
